Amsterdam Light Festival

The amazing Amsterdam Light Festival 2024 - 2025 starts on 28 November! For the 13th edition of the Festival of Light in Amsterdam new light art has been selected. The Amsterdam Light Festival water route is back again this year and takes you through the canals, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, of the city.

The theme of this year's Amsterdam Light Festival artworks is Rituals. This theme fits perfectly with the 750th anniversary of the city of Amsterdam. Indeed, all over the world, light is a common feature of rituals, especially when it comes to celebrating and commemorating moments. There are fireworks at New Year's Eve, Easter fires, candles on birthday cakes, as well as candles in church.
