Two memorable experiences in one ticket
Cruising through the Amsterdam canals is an iconic experience that everyone must try at least once in their lives. Both Rembrandt van Rijn and Vincent van Gogh called Amsterdam home at different times, centuries ago. They walked along the canals as they made their way through the city every day and also when they walked to church on Sundays, both attended Sunday services at the Noorderkerk.
Now you can experience an immersive son-et-lumière show in the Noorderkerk that explores the connection between the two Dutch masters. You decide when you enjoy each activity, just remember that it is a 10 minute walk between the canal cruise dock and the church.
An immersive son-et-lumière show unlike any other
Van Gogh & Rembrandt in Amsterdam is a unique experience in the Noorderkerk. During the show the entire inside of the 17th-century church becomes a moving canvas, displaying art from the two Dutch masters. You can take a seat in a pew or on a comfy bean bag, or you can walk around the church, whichever you prefer.
The show tells the story of how Vincent van Gogh became fascinated by Rembrandt when he lived in Amsterdam, and how his work was inspired on the paintings, etchings and views of the great master. You’ll hear Van Gogh’s own thoughts through the letters he wrote to his brother Theo. And see with your own eyes the similarities in the work of Rembrandt and Van Gogh.
Watch the city from the water
